Baldwin County, Georgia, (pop. 46,337), a vibrant and dynamic county, centrally located within the state, is seeking an innovative and experienced professional to serve as County Manager. The position reports to a five-member board of commissioners, administers a $23 million annual budget, and manages the daily operations of a county with more than 350 employees and 17 departments.
A former capital of the state of Georgia, Baldwin County is a mixture of old and new southern tradition with high-tech corporations blending with the county’s agricultural heritage. The county also serves as home to Georgia College and State University as well as Georgia Military College, which provide the community with a collegiate energy. Meanwhile, Lake Sinclair offers the community ample recreational opportunities as do the many parks, hiking trails, and hunting prospects.
The successful candidate will have demonstrated leadership in either a public or private organization, familiarity with Georgia’s local funding methods, strong financial management skills, experience with managing utilities such as water and wastewater, applied management, communication, and technology skills, and the ability to perform in diverse settings. A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of study is required.
